Takoe

Hi! My name is Takoe! I am a toy poodle. I was born November 10, 1994. My real name is Takamine Noel CD. Takamine is pronounced "Talk-uh-meany". I was named after a Japanese guitar. Noel was added to my name because I came to live with my family 2 days before Christmas. My family calls me "Takoe" (pronounced "taco" like the mexican food). But the name that fits me best is "Miss Meany".

I hate dogs! When Mom yells "Dogs, outside" or "Dogs, come" I don't bother to respond. I'm NOT a dog. I am a person in a fur coat. I make sure the dogs around here don't forget it!

I was the first poodle my family ever had and am the most important "person" in the world! I rule the world ! Nobody better mess with me!

I am really smart! I got my CD (companion dog title) in 4 shows with all my scores in the 190's. I would have gotten it in 3 if an australian shepherd hadn't broke it's long sit and pushed me off the mat.The judge said she would have let me try my long sit over again if I hadn't gotten up and went to Mom. But I thought after the dog messed with me that I was safer back with Mom than out there where that crazy thing was, Mom agreed with me and when I came to her she smiled so I knew I did the right thing! My Mom is a sloppy trainer and handler so I had to work extra hard to get my good scores. The only thing my momdid to help me is figure out that I

work best for hugs and kisses -not for treats! I was retrieving a dumbell by the time I was 12 weeks old and intended to get my CDX. But I have PRA and am going blind. The first thing I had trouble with was judging distance. It scared me to jump the broad jump. Mom decided not to ask me to do something that worried me so much. Now I can't see very well in incandescent or low light situations. On bright sunny days I can see just fine! I love sunny days!

I am an angel. My favorite person in the whole world is my sister Autumn, she is an angel too! Mom made us both costumes and we walked in our town's Christmas parade. We had a lot of fun! I like to do anything as long as Autumn is with me. Mom has sewn me several dresses. I have a yellow Easter

dress and a red Christmas dress. Pictures of me in them will be added to the bottom of this page. One of the things Autumn does with me that I like so much is dress me up and push me around in a baby stroller! It is so much fun! Autumn is the best! We love each other!

My favorite sport is lure coursing! It is a sport for sight hounds but I used to do it on "fun days". A bunch of pulleys are put out in a mowed field. A string is wound around them to make a zig-zaggy loop.Three white pieces of plastic are tied to the string close together to make a lure. I chased the lure back and forth across the field until I eventually end up back around the loop where I started from. With my failing eye sight I can't lure course any more. It makes my Mom sad that I can't participate in some thing that makes me so happy. Everything else in life Mom and Autumn can carry me through, but coursing is lost to me forever.
